Reigning from Boise, Idaho, Melodic Death Metal band Mortal Ashes brings back the long lost elements of metal that over the course of time have been heavily diluted by today’s popular music artists. Mortal Ashes focuses on the importance of guitar riffs, guitar and bass harmonies as well as fast double bass thrash beats, and guttural vocals. Since coming together in 2009 Mortal Ashes has seen line up changes, played several shows in the Boise area, and created their first EP. The band’s current line-up includes Trevor Bohlin’s treacherous vocals, Josh Moore and Steven Chavez’s demon infused harmonic guitar work, Davin Pena’s thunderous hell-groove bass work which perfectly compliments Brandon Hedin’s well defined galloping and pouncing drum architecture.
Using metal’s most pure elements, Mortal Ashes brings together an endless supply of authentic metal thrash and melody. Mortal Ashes’ message is simple, keep metal heavy and pure from today’s more popular metal trends. They apply their message and enforce it with songs like “Silt and Petrified Remains:, a song in which paints a picture of an epic battle in the minds of the listener. “Black Allegiance”, a patriotic song of blasphemy, gives it’s listeners a new metal anthem to solute to. It is songs like these that paves new ground for metal legions across the globe.
