Portrait of Johnimusic1
John I John i - born Janoih Reid, the first of three to Janice and Everton Peart in St. Mary. At age four his family moved to Greater Portmore and then finally residing in Portmore. As a Child John grew up on music being the first thing he would hear in the morning, before going to school. John attended Ascot primary, then followed on to Greater Portmore high, he begun Deejaying after see his friend Craig C and S.O.P performing at his previous church. John accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour at the age of eleven years old, while in high school, which was really difficult. Armed with this knowledge, He begun to formula his songs and careened his skills which later let him to become “J.R” a shorting for his full name (2003-2005). John i a.k.a “J.R” continued his ministry after meeting G.I a close friend who brought him to his first studio recording, meeting Robert and Roger Facey of A.P.S (anointed praise station). His career exploded , being on two school tours in 2005 hosted by Marshall Redwood (Marshy Redz) from Praise House, which later the following year gave him the opportunity to minister at Papa San’s Album launch “Higher Heights”, Along with numerous shows on the gospel and secular circuit. Both personally and professionally he humbly describes himself when asked, in his own words, “I am whoever God wants me to be, because the flesh wants nothing good for I”. John told me that he can relate to Paul when he made a statement that he had a torn in his side (2 Corinthians 12:7) being he himself deals with the same. In life there are challenges and lessons to learn From each persons walk, but to live and not learn from your mistake is just a shame.
