Portrait of Olivia Bonilla
My name is Olivia Bonilla. I was born in San Diego, California.

Like most artists in the entertainment business, I was very intrigued
by music at a young age. I grew up listening to The Beatles, Simon &
Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, The Beach Boys and many others thanks to
my dad.
It wasn’t until my sister and I first watched the movie “Selena” that I
got really excited about singing. I remember telling my dad
afterwards, “Daddy, I want to be a singer!” Of course at the age of 5, I
wasn’t taken very seriously. But when I was 10, I joined my church choir and I learned that I really enjoyed
performing in front of others. Soon enough, I began developing my own personal interest in music and
discovered that my calling is pop/rock.
When I was 12 years old, I attempted to write my own material, but when you’re that age what could you
really write about? (Singing about my new Barbie doesn’t really cut it).
At the age of 15, I was inspired by many various artists including Coldplay, The Beatles, Alexz Johnson,
Paramore, and later on Taylor Swift. It was then when I wrote my first song, “Can’t Say Goodbye”. From this
point on, songwriting came quite naturally to me. I soon afterwards wrote my next songs “Stumble”, “Don’t
Say You’re Sorry” and “As If You Never existed”.
After a couple of months of working on other projects, I went back to the drawing board and began writing
new material. I’m very excited about my new work and I really hope that you like them.
