Rocc "Tha Rippa" Mikez is back! With his much anticipated sophomore album "Rocc The Rippa 2, scheduled for release June 2016. Featuring his smash hits "Rocc 'Em, Sock 'Em", "VA to Paris" and "French Kisses" and "Cotton Candy Skies" just to name a few! You can expect to hear great things from him this year and in the very near future. His first album "Rocc Tha Rippa" was released 12/12/12 and received 4 platinum auddy awards on!

Hailing out of the projects of VA, Rocc Mikez is everything you could ever imagine in an upcoming artist. Since the tender age of 14, Rocc has been writing and recording his own music. Now as a more profound as well as determined lyricist, the self-proclaimed "Greatest That Never Made It" is a force to be reckoned with.

Along with writing and composing his own material, as recently as 2005, Rocc Mikez has also been noted for being "Genius" when it comes to producing beats. Rocc Mikez was born Robert Johnson in Richmond, VA. The elder of two brothers and one half-sister, Rocc has more than fame on his mind.

"Music to me is more than being famous or rich. Knowing that those things come along with having such a profession is nice but my main concern is the well-being of my family. I've been doing this for 10+ years now, so I have a pretty good idea about what good music sounds like." Known for his spectacular wordplay and vocabulary, Rocc is definitely a "diamond in the rough".

His first CD, “Unleashed: The Prelude”, was released in 2010. Including his smash club single “Shake, Rattle & Roll” and “Fresh Up Out Tha Gutta”, it was a masterpiece in the making but never was completed. Having only five tracks, it still received good numbers and reviews from online listeners.

Since then, Mikez has had numerous performances including showcases for XXL Magazine and Def Jam. He’s been featured in an online magazine,, is currently in the top 30 artists in his city according to and in the Top 3 Urban artists according to He was also expected to be featured on a Young Money Mixtape, “Young Money Unsigned Hype Vol. 2” but that oppurtunity never happened.

The eldest of two brothers, Anthony and Dominique Johnson; Rocc is something special when it comes to making music. Aside from writing his own material, he also produces and mixes/masters his own tracks as well as others. His independent recording studio, Royal Black Studios, has offered recording/production services to some of VA's best local artists including Shy.Meek of Green Muscle Entertainment. His company specializes in audio production, artist management and graphic design.

As recently as 2009, Rocc Mikez opened his mouth and added another talent to his act that most never saw coming; singing. “I listen to a lot of various music but was always amazed by Rap/R&B collaborations. That being said, after unsuccessfully searching for someone who sings to collaborate with who had the same drive as myself, I started doing it myself”.

As a youth, Rocc sang in the choir for Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. You can sample some of Rocc’s vocals on his tracks “I Want U”, “Got Me Open” and most recently "Trials & Tribulations".

However, tracks such as “How A G Roll” proves that just because Rocc sings and attended church, he isn’t soft by a long shot. And “Shake, Rattle & Roll” shows that he can also get the club crunk when need be.

When it comes to marketability, Rocc is ahead of the game. With sites such as making it possible for artist to sell merchandise, he took full advantage of it. In 2010, he created an account and quickly gave his name an image. Making everything from t-shirts, hats, posters, hoodies and even his own line of Pro-Keds shoes named after himself (now discontinued).

To assure you of Rocc's drive, dedication and determination, just google him. You will find that he has been hard at work since the moment he picked up a microphone. Any major search engine will produce results as well as multiple images and videos when his name is typed. He has an array of original material that shows just how versatile he can be. It’s only a matter of time before Rocc Mikez aka Rocc Tha Rippa makes a name for himself, if he hasn’t done so already.
