Portrait of CMG757
CMG'S BIO: Bring up the topic of super groups in hip-hop, and fans automatically think of Wu-Tang Clan, Ruff Ryders, G-Unit, or even back to the old days of Run DMC. Down in Chesapeake, Virginia, CheeseTown Money Gettaz certainly expects to one day be added to that list of super-groups. Consisting of members Juan Da' Future, Killa Da' President, and Safty Da' Don, the trio brings a new flavor of raw street music, as well as music for the females and the clubs that's sure to get the group plenty of radio play. With numerous plays on music sites such as myspace and their fan base growing larger everyday, CMG's buzz is only getting stronger. The youngest member in the group, Juan, has already made his own mark in VA by dropping a well received mixtape, “I'm Getting Money Vol. 1” in the summer of 2008 as well as doing shows and collaborating with some of Virginia's best known artists, such as Young Mark, Kenny Kenny, and Kris and Kelz. Safty is the businessman of the group as well as an artist, and his combination of hard hitting lyrics and punchlines plus his work ethic hustling CD's, getting record label meetings and securing shows for the group, have certainly paid off. Killa has been credited with having a very catchy flow and his sing along lyrics only make the group's songs that much more addicting. Having opened up for artists such as Fabulous, Paul Wall, Cassidy and also winning an audition to appear on BET's “106 And Park” Wild-Out Wednesday competition, as well as numerous plays and requests for their hit single, “Wave To Em” on Norfolk, VA's 103 Jamz radio station, CMG's name is destined to be included in that never-ending list of hip-hop super-groups.
