About Itopia
Itopia, a thrilling new band, creating music that is powerful, sharp and exciting. They have a unique sound that is fresh, original and inventive. In August they recorded their first e.p, "Raging Sky" which features the songs, Consumption, Fall To Pieces and Drift Away, recorded at Data Recording Studio in Tralee alongside Brendan O'Regan.

Itopia was formed in Galway city in May 2008. In the beginning, Paul McElroy (Monahgan) and Alan Jones (Mullingar) began writing their original material, after meeting through an advert placed in Chaos shop, Galway. Together they created "Raging Sky", their first EP, and recorded it in Data Recording Studio, Co. Kerry.
After enrolling in the GCC Galway, studying a music PLC course, Paul and Alan discovered the remaining three members of Itopia. All three were also studying on the same course. Straight away, Itopia began writing more and more original music, each band member putting forward inventive and creative ideas. The wide variety of influences each member had, gave Itopia its unique sound.
Itopia are still working hard, perfecting their sound and their new material. They have played in many venues, including Sally Longs and Kings Head (Galway).

Forthcoming Gigs: The Stables (Mullingar), 10th January.

Itopia, a new breed of exciting, fresh and powerful music.

Itopia are currently booking gigs all over Ireland and are continuing to write music. Sometime in the near future they plan to start recording their first album. 2009 is shaping up to be a very busy year for Itopia
