The Johnny Kilroy point of view began as many music visions do...in a basement with some beats. We grew in a melting pot of music from RnB, Hip Hop, live bands, and the creativity that comes from genres such as Alternative Rock and The Soul era. We've carved out our style from melody, emotion, and a wow factor infused with lyrics and purpose. We always hope to leave a crowd in awe and far from disapointment, so we pulled our influence from groups like The Fugees, Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, and Linkin Park, plus artists like Kanye, Twista, Ludacris, Nas, a bit Timbaland, and many many more. We grew in the midwest just north of Chicago always doing shows and displaying the singing and rapping abilites of Tantrum aka (T'challa), the metaphors of Mic B, and the lyrics/song writing of Chem-1, this creates a blend of styles that are fully understood once we step foot on any stage. We have since elevated our performances by adding a live band (Fly High) so the crowd can really get the full experience of Johnny Kilroy aka Oblivious Mob (in a past life) and what we're truly trying to bring to the table. We have done many openings for major names like Talib Kweli, Nas, and Twista just to name a few and with our broad view of music, our creativity has been enjoyed by people who appreciate good music, not beginning or ending with Hip Hop and RnB. Johnny Kilroy is a product of society and Society Ent. is a label that we helped create with us and other artists like D-train, Classiq, Smoke n Cass, and many more talented artists and producers.
