Portrait of Lori Toy

Lori grew up as a rough and tough horse riding tomboy in the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee. Her father played guitar and sang old Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash tunes. Her mother sang in the church choir.

When Lori was ten years old she got her first guitar and spent countless hours alone in her bedroom learning chords until her fingers were sore. She had a natural knack for poetry and began writing songs soon after.

Lori has performed as lead singer and songwriter for the band CHANGE Of Heart. She was a part of a musical tour that traveled in the eastern part of the country performing at the prestigious Count Basie, Keswick, & Scottish Rite theatres. She was participated as an active vocalist and lyricist in many of the classical compositions performed in the show.

Lori auditioned and played at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nasville, Tennessee. She is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association located just off Music Row in Nashville.

Lori has such a passion for singing and for writing that she says, "If you are a natural born writer, you write because it's in your heart, even if no one ever heard them, you would write them anyway"

Lori is a dedicated singer / songwriter who enjoys the journey and remains grateful for the many beautiful souls and encouraging hearts, who have all in some way, inspired her to write tomorrow’s song today
