James Rossi is a cat from Maine. Picking up the violin at 10 years old, he developed a sincere devotion to the creation of musical and poetic soul. Self-taught on the guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums, and other instruments, James records and produces his own music in full and in sovereignty. With the influences of Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Conor Oberst, and Bob Dylan shining through, James focuses on lyrics heavy with self-doubt and contradictions, as well as insightful implications about the human condition, religion, feminism, and all the pretentious songwriter bits. He is also fortunate enough to have been borne out of puberty with a rich bass grumble of a voice, reminiscent of the 21st century Leonard Cohen, but with a sophomoric youth that brings forth a sense of candor and earnest imbecilities.
