Portrait of TORA! TORA! TORA!
Mike and Matt were in a previous band called KBH years back and after a hiatus were trying to form another band together. Our goal was something rooted in our love of punk rock but that also explored other variations of rock, punk, folk, Americana or whatever else suited our fancy. On a trip through the desert the two came upon Squirrel, a lonely wandering Native American. He told us that he was our spirit animal and must play drums for us. How can you argue with that? Ryan showed up one day to practice with a Dead Boys shirt on and the voice of an angel. What's that? He can also play guitar? You're in dude. Once the band got rolling they burst into the Orange County scene and played close to 30 shows in their first 6 months of existence. Each show got better and better and more people were showing up. At the end of summer (2009) TORA! TORA! TORA! decided to record their debut EP and start touring the world in search of a good time.
