Portrait of Straight Thru
In the summer of 2004 vocalist Jay Minardi joined forces with powerhouse combo Josh Schmidt on the guitar and Kenny Bosco on the bass guitar. After realizing that they shared the common desire to create good music and make it heard they began writing songs. Soon after they would unite with drummer Chris Sampogna who would take their music to another level and keep a steady beat to their vision. The result of this determined foursome was powerful music and a band that could compete with the best of them.
Thus, Straight Thru was born and they got their chance to prove themselves.
With heart felt messages of pain, joy, loss, and determination - Jay Minardi poured his soul into his lyrics with emotions that many could relate to. Backed by the dynamic and often colorful riffs of Josh Schmidt and Kenny Bosco on their guitars, the music could take an audience from a bonecrushing breakdown to a melodic sing along in the blink of an eye. Chris Sampogna provided the backing for their songs with drums that would captivate an audience with the splendor of his technical style and stick spinning antics.
With the completion of Straight Thru's first album, Reflections, comes a band that is here to stay. While the music on the album carries their songs outside of the venues where they perform - it is their live show that has to be witnessed to truly appreciate the energy, the talent, and the drive that many believe will lead this band to success
