Portrait of Lotus and Troy Dunnit
Troy & Lotus are two Montreal artists on their grind.  Seemingly on opposite ends of the musical spectrum, they have managed to find common ground and create a next-level sound.
M.C/Producer/Real man/ Husband/ Father Lotus (Jai Nitai) draws from his own experiences and down to earth demeanor to craft true-to-life lyrics delivered with the mature swagger of a seasoned vet. On the flipside is Troy Dunnit, self proclaimed “Anti Cupid”. Dunnit’s been in the game (here and abroad) for over 10 years, working with such well known artists as A-Trak and Chromeo. In that time he’s developed a persona of the forever-young, commitment-fleeing playboy, delivered through razor-sharp wit and charismatic wordplay.
The "Anti Cupid EP" is Lotus and Troy Dunnit's first project together. Taking Troy's "Anti Cupid" persona and backed by Lotus' stand-out production, the two have crafted real chemistry and a distinct new sound...A true “Nu Flava”.
Innovative, dedicated, independent and 100% Canadian; ‘Tus and Dunnit couldn’t fit today’s musical landscape any better. Hip hop audiences have become savvier and are tired of the V.I.P and gun talk and now are looking across the border. With Kardinal Offishall, Chromeo and most notably Drake as the standard bearers, Canada’s producing that fresh, boundary-pushing sound and style that will be prevalent in Hip hop going forward. Now, with their 1st single/video “Nu Flava” burning up the web (hiphopcanada.com, hiphopdx.com, onsmash.com, worldstarhiphop.com) and DJs Semtex (UK) and A-Trak showing respect; this Montreal-bred collective has put everybody on notice
