About the Artist
Born in Easton, Maryland, Corey Sampson aka CLS has been rhyming since age 12. Inspired by wordsmiths like RUN-DMC, KRS1, RAKIM, NAS, he has always had a passion to Rap. After high school and working a few odd jobs, CLS found himself joining the US Army fall of 1999. Summer of 2003, while stationed in (Fort Hood) Killeen, Texas, He met a local producer name Lieutenant who took him under his wing, and introduced him to the lab. After weeks and months of sharpening his skills as an artist, CLS did his first music showcase and was featured on the 254 I&I records compilation mixtape. Prior to getting out of the military, he met another artist/producer name Monsta Dot, who laced him with tracks and help arrange his first music demo.
After being discharged from the military, CLS continued doing music showcases in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC.
In 2008, CLS was a semi-finalist in Disc Maker's Northeast Independent Music World Series. CLS is also a top 100 artist on Ourstage.com, and in 2009 his song "Dats Wsup" became a top 100 song.
