About the Artist
Denham Reagh is a four piece acoustic rock band from Campbelltown, Sydney Australia. The name was created by Robbie and Marc's respective places of living, and joined together to form Denham Reagh.
The band consists of four members:
Robert Bruce (Acoustic Guitar and Lead Vocals)
Marc Stagg (Keyboard, Electric Guitar and Lead Vocals)
Gordon Jowsey ( Bass Guitar and Vocals)
Aaron Jobst (Drums)
Denham Reagh formed through sheer chance when Robert discovered Marc through a local theatre group. After having a few jams together they decided to hit the road as a duo and came up with the name by combining words of their respective places of living. After some time the need for a fuller sound was discussed and Gordon and Aaron were invited to complete Denham Reagh. Already they have shared the stage with acts including Operator Please, Dead Letter Circus, Stealing O’Neal, Sonic Porno and The Black Stars.
The boys play a large collection of original songs and Bassist Gordon describes their music as “very melodic and rhythm focused with a little something extra”. They like to write songs with meaningful lyrics, particularly things that focus on real life experiences and issues. One example of this is the song ‘On Your Own’ which focuses on the sad feelings one has when losing someone very close, a feeling many have experienced. The song is to be featured on an upcoming compilation CD titled 'Rock 4 Life,' which is to be released early Autumn through Quickstar Productions.
Bands that Denham Reagh have been heavily influenced by include Matchbox 20, John Mayer and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Recent events and venues the band has played at include:
• The Oxford Tavern, Wollongong
• Spectrum, Darlinghurst
• Manly Fisho’s, Manly
• The Gaelic Club, Surry Hills
• Fisher’s Gig 2008, Bradbury Oval
Drum Media journalist Liam Casey recently wrote about the band and reviewed their show saying “I will happily bet a reasonable amount of money that the indie and mainstream crowds will go nuts for Denham Reagh.”
The band recently released their debut EP which is being distributed through Cdbaby and digital outlets such as Apple iTunes and Amazon.com.
Denham Reagh will continue gigging all throughout 2009 in support of their EP and will focus on playing festivals and touring extensively early in the year.
