Music formation “d'Zilla” was founded in 2007 by V.D.Narin (guitar) and Kiril Molodetskiy (bass). The musicians performed hot mixture of funk and metal, balancing between velocious thresh rythms and tough riffs of Seatle grunge. At that time d'Zilla also comprises Michael Chikviladze (vocal) and Vadim Kurochkin (drums). Both from Defenders of Tanelorn, Tbilisi, Georgia. After few strives to find a new “voice” eventually Alexey Tereschenko (vocal, ex-Spiritual Void, ex-Sunscript) joins the band. Since than d'Zilla keeps working over the same material but with changed vocals making them more melodical. At the same time new drummers replace one another but without success. The music stuff acquires more diversity and goes more experimental, the sound “lightens”. Eventually Igor Gartopan (drums ex-Number 482) comes in and from that time on experiments implement into organic original sound of the band.
Now the band performs the organic fusion of funk, ska, brit-rock, jazz, jungle, trip-hop, ethno and psycodelia at the same time working on the preveous material. And than emerges new dilemma. Impossibility to collide new eclectic material with that funk-metal the band used to play. The band makes a decision to abandon heavy metal and move towards new sound experiments using already exesting trends. Guitarist and bassist use drastically new approach to arrangements using tapping, slide and slap technics and sound processing for both guitars.
April 2009 1st studio album is recorded.
