About the ArtistFor The Joy of Human Love
Rafferty grew up in the Western U.S., one of over 100 musical cousins, aunts and uncles, some of which were members of world-renowned choirs and classical vocal groups. She had already discovered her classical piano prowess at a young age in competitions and winning full-ride college scholarships in Piano Performance and Clarinet, but something compelled her to make her own music. When she was 21 years old, Rafferty's husband died from brain cancer, leaving her with a ten-month-old baby and simple recording studio equipment. Curiosity took over and catharsis began. After she tucked her baby in bed at night she fired up the equipment and healed her broken heart writing songs celebrating the joy of human love.
