You know what? After hearing this again I feel obligated to do a thorough review so here it is:
Flawless!!!
Leaving pretention and cheap gimmicks to everyone else this track rises to the top of not just Blues, but all popular music. With class, sophistication and brilliance this track engulfs the senses. Few songwriters and musicians can pull of the realism required to nail this style, however Rex succeeds in every regard. From some of the tastiest Slide guitar and rhythm section work through to the soulful vocals the reach of this tune is not just awe inspiring to the listener, but the standard by which all popular music should be judged! Nice relaxing sound.i like all of them but of course i like trouble where i am.it has such a classic sound to it,i can hear a little fleetwood mac and a little eagles in there.i hear alot of different sounds in your music.i can tell you obviously write from the heart and what youve been through and thats what makes people feel you.everybody will find something they can connect to.good luck and peace to you + I Don'tWanna Know by ourstage

From Sleeve's Beatles inspiration to Rex Havoc's phenomenal production I DON'T WANT TO KNOW is the new sheriff in town for Indie Pop. Like a vintage CHevy this tune is well thought out, with simple yet elegant lines that do not overstate the message or cloud the senses.
This song is flat out gorgeous from the George Harrison Gretch sound to the overall production and should be a standard bearer for this genre.
I DON'T WANNA KNOW can really take you places that you want to go.

gotta say that American Dream is a powerful song. What were you thinking when you wrote it, if you don't mind me asking? The picture with the homeless guys in particular leaves a sharp cynical edge on this.
Trouble where I am might still be my favorite.

Trouble Where I Am takes the prize, the girl, and drives away in the shiny red convertible at the end. That's an original lick with, provoking lyrics, and a catchy chorus. Congrats on creating some kickin tunes.

And here we have again, a stellar work by Rex Havoc and the Ruins! From the opening slide guitar wizardry from Ed Bradley to Rex covering all other musical bases, this song is a slammin' example of great blues, great chops and great all around musicianship that should fast track to the top of the Blues Channel here at OURSTAGE and anywhere else for that matter.
Rex's humble comments and his attention to other artists here at ourstage shows a teachable spirit rarely seen in an all too egotistical music world. That said, it is US who should be listening here and being taught (I sure am listening with my pencil at the ready) because Rex Ruins BABY DO EVERYBODY is definitely the song that's telling me...School is in session! Great work Rex!

Rex, "Falling into Feelin" is great! I love the percussion you put in this song...can't keep my feet still when listening! You definitely have a great sense of arrangement and excellent production skills!

I've just treated myself to a bunch of your tunes as well as THE CAMERA NEVER LIES. As for that one. Here's my take on it. I think this tune is frankly beautiful! The guitar intro is very nice but more than that the production is freakin' flawless! I've been after that kind of mastering/production with guitars for years and can't find it and here you've nailed it! Great job.
I absolutely love the hook at around 1:14 on the tune and again at about 2:05
Now onto your keyboard work. again excellent! 10's across the board. And again...The compression on the piano production is sweet brother. PLEASE tell me what settings or compressors you are using on that piano and if it is pre or post mastering phase etc. (If that's not a trade secret! :)
I've put this one into my Favorites category because the tune is addicting.
Personally I LOVE the song.
Now onto your tune WHY CAN'T I GET OVER YOU....I freakin' LOVE this song Rex! I would LOVE to be able to take that song and play with it if you'd let me and shoot you back a CD or MP3 of it. THAT song just took me right in and has me singing and playing it over and over again!! You know me...I'd put more of a Gospel/Bluesy feel to it and maybe even change the time to 3/4 (if that isn't sacriledge! :) But just the way it is I LOVE that tune too.
Your music is awesome my friend and the talent, attention to craft and detail plus your bio speaks volumes about your musicianship! I had no idea you played with all those bands. My goodness Rex. If I had half of those contacts and half of your bio I'd be a happy man. I am very impressed with your whole body of work. Truly and I AM being brutally honest as requested. I only hope someday we could do some work together. I live in Albany, NY and I'm not sure where you're located these days but I would welcome the chance to work with you someday.

Stan, WTF are you talking about? "JAZZY" ...nobody ever said TRoad should have a jazz player...just a better one. Man, I've tried to be quiet about your rememberances of the past bands you were "IN" and your "career", but this nonsense must cease. You mentioned in your little comments to Brian that you're tired of the digs and should be treated as a respected musician... Well, I'm tired of you throwing digs at people you championed you being Able to be in a band of Thunder Roads caliber. Stop trying to make yourself better than you are...God Damn...
