a great awakening that the world is not as simple and just as once perceived. The heartache and righteous anger that inevitably follows such a realization.
I like this song. The vocals are unique the whole sound and shape of the song has something totally original about it. It kinda reminds me of old Ani Difranco who I adore.
WOW! I have officially been blown away. I listen to some pretty intense music, but rarely do I come across something this strong. Your voice is just so powerful, sends chills down my back. Did you write those lyrics? They're ingenious! One of the best songs I've heard in a while. Keep making music!

I doubt I can describe the beauty of this song and her voice better than tunatyava below me. There truly is a fire in her soul; it burns brightly and is kept alive with amazing passion. [Talent runs in the family, it seems. ;)
A heart-wrenching wonderful song performed by a wonderful artist. The wisdom in her words is clear
It's still amazing to me that "Culture Shock" continues to reach out to so many. To think that you wrote this when you were 16 years old blows my mind. I'm so stinking proud of you, Bean. I don't care if you end up in 423rd place... You're the best in my book and I couldn't love you more. I'm your No. 1 fan... I miss you... Alaska misses you! Love your Papi

keep pushing and making that sound hope the best 4u you've earned the best, much love to y Speak Eze
It's hard to believe so many years have passed since you wrote it, and yet... I never tire of hearing it!
I still remember watching you perform it live at gigs, and how captivated everyone always was when they listened. I never knew until talking to you tonite, that you actually recorded this ALL BY YOURSELF IN YOUR LIVING ROOM! Wow! lol...all this time, I always thought this was one of your studio recorded versions! Heh
Just goes to show how VERY TALENTED you really are! So good at so many things...(I'm jealous! lol)
Seriously...if this sounds this cool, with a cheap recording you did all alone, imagine how much MORE AWESOME it would sound recorded in a studio, with some of your talented musician friends backing you? I hope you can someday...I think that's all it would take to get this one on the charts EVERYWHERE! ;0
And besides that, this song is very RELEVANT in today's world...with an important message that I think just about everyone can identify with. I remember so many different people from all walks of life; from kids to middle-aged, and grandparents all loving this when you played it. I think it's going places FINALLY!
Good luck winning this thing! I think 48 hrs as #1 so far is an awesome achievement! Tell everyone to KEEP VOTING until the 28th! :0) Yay!
