PlayBLACK DRESS (1981)

by Kim Ayrie Morris w/ The Nervous

This song was written immediately after a close musician friend died from shooting Dilaudid (strong opiate analgesic pills used by Cancer patients). He was popular in the small "new wave/punk rock" scene in Phoenix, Arizona in 1981. I wrote the song in 1 hr, taught the band in sound check and debuted it that evening. We recorded it as a Ltd. Ed. single on K-15 radio- it was #1 for weeks. Appreciate per the era.

(...yup, I'm playing a REAL Vox Continental!)
