This song was written after a night spent in a trendy bar/nightclub - and I was hit on by an ex from high school who didn't recognize me as being someone he should know. I went along with it out of spite - and it hit me how many times people are getting paid back for either their own actions...or others actions. This is a song about game playing, basically.
