Wow...quite a debate going on. That's cool. Music should be able to do just that. I like the song. Nice loose feel and playful. The production isn't tight, but that's the point. The performance is spot-on and suits the mood of the song. Great job.
I just have to respond to KandiB. What do you mean "you're either an artist or a politician"? "Look at the 60's-the greatest songs were political and/or protest. Oh my gosh---The greatest Artists reflect the voices of the people and of the times. Look at Shakespeare-Look at Goya-Look at Dylan!!!!!!!!! Where are the political protest songs of today? Great song BTW.
The previous comment has me a little perplexed. The lyrics say "My heart NOT a prison cell has me doing time." The "crime" is probably infidelity. Check out Fiona Apple's song "Criminal" for a great example of that. Sounds like a guy trying to to get back into an ex lover's good graces. Maybe I'm missing something? Also, as far as mixing art and politics, have you listened to sixties music? Bob Dylan, C.S.N.Y to name a few. I do love this song. It's loose playful nature and humor remind me a little of early Little Feat.
Do you really want to irritate half of the country with this one? Music and politics are like art and politics, they don't mix well. You're either an artist or a politician, but no one has ever really been very successful at both. Good Luck.

'Well Love me, Love me, Love me, I'm a Liberal
or so sang Phil Ochs but what would he know?
Great song BTW.
