This is funky for sure, More funky than jazzy. Linda J - The primary element in a funk song is a prominent bass & drum groove, not a whacka whacka guitar sound. Although, the whacka whacka plays an important role in de-emphasizing melody and harmony in favor of a rhythmic groove. And if you listen to this song.. It's got a chicka chicka guitar in the mix at times which is nearly as good as a whacka whacka guitar

For sure it's got a jazz feel but it's more funky than jazzy IMHO. Great tune. Love the trumpet.
