About Ali Marcus
Ali Marcus is a Seattle-based songwriter with five records on her own independent record label.
With a good bit of local and national recognition, from shows at Northwest Folklife Festival, the Experience Music Project, and most recently, CMJ and the Bluebird Cafe, she has attracted attention from magazines such as Harp Magazine, Modern Acoustic, Seattle Sound, Seattle P-I.
She is part of a thriving folk scene in Seattle that revolves around a certain country flavored sound a la Neil Young-meets-Maybelle Carter, and is currently touring nationally to support the records that come out about every six months on her indie label, Turtle Rock Records.
She has been featured on NPR's "All Songs Considered" open mic, and KUOW, KBCS and KEXP here in Seattle.
