About Black Bizness
“The name Black Bizness is all about the underground commerce in which we all seem to be involved in one way or another. If you're doing anything against the grain to get ahead in this money driven world, then you are involved in Black Bizness. We ain't white collar or blue collar...with us, the Bizness is Black and the Network is Strong!”
BLACK BIZNESS began as a rap group in 2004 and has evolved into a movement amongst hustlers and bizness people. Hip-hop/rap artist RICH Tycoon and P.O. Tha Profit first came up with the concept of the group when recording their first group demo project in 2004. Since then the group has released 2 underground albums and 2 solo projects collectively.
Shop Open was their first group album and helped the duo obtain their respect locally in the San Francisco Bay Area rap scene. Shop Open features Bay Area rap legends Yukmouth (formerly of the Luniz), San Quinn, Keak Da Sneak, and Sean T. The group’s second album Buyin’ N Sellin’ has been presented by San Quinn and is definitely a step up from a solid Shop Open.
Some would ask why is Black Bizness not called a duo instead of a group…after all there are 2 members, right? Well, Black Bizness is what u would refer to as a revolving door rap click. Black Bizness’s projects are meant to promote various recording artists within their circle, sort of like Wu-Tang Clan. There are a few spin-off artists within the click that are also pursuing solo careers. RICH Tycoon and P.O. Tha Profit serve as the cornerstone members.
It’s hard to pin-point the Black Bizness sound. Most of their members are from different cities within the Bay Area and bring their own flavor to the stew pot when making music. This is what also sets the group apart from any other in the area and in rap in general. You never know what you are going to get from the group albums, but you can bet that it will have something to do with real street life, have a lot of bass, and sound hot.
Black Bizness is not only known for good music. T-shirts are popping up nation-wide increasing visiblity for the group and giving the group more street credibility. Both men and women hustler’s love the shirts that profile the various Black Bizness logo and designs. The group name Black Bizness seems to take on a different meaning for each individual user.
