About Dale Hicks

Springville , AL

At the age of 13 Dale Hicks received his first harmonica, but by that time, the blues had already been a driving force in his life. By the age of 16, Dale would make the drive down to Mississippi
to play with the old great blues artist like "The Davis Family" and "Birmingham George".
Dale became well known in the Mussel Shoals music community during the 1970's as a session musician at Fame Studios, Mussel Shoals Sound, Wishbone Studio and East Avalon.
He worked with greats like Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin and The Allman Brothers band.
After the Mussel Shoals area, Dale played with countless bands across the southeast. After playing with "Willie King" and "Big Mike Griffin" for some years, Dale was chosen to be a part of the band known as "Train". The original version of the band went through a lot of changes witch took the band from blues to a pop format.
Today Dale writes music and records from his Pro Tools studio in Springville Alabama. He works with some of his old session friends from Mussel Shoals, like Tommy Carter (Guitar Player) and Flip (Sax player) from the band “The Commodores ".
Dale continues to create music for the soul.

“And his best are yet to come”.
