About Dead Men Dreaming
staten island, NY
Dead Men Dreaming was formed in August of 2004 by 5 guys from New York City who wanted nothing more than to just rock the f@#k out. Since 2004, Dead Men Dreaming has released a self-titled album in 2006 which received significant support from radio stations across the country making it one of CMJ’s top 5 added albums in March of 2007 and they recently released a brand new EP produced and mixed by Billy Graziadei (Biohazard, Suicide City). They’ve toured throughout the U.S. kicking ass from CBGB’s all the way to the famous Los Angeles-based Whisky a Go Go. In the past two years, DMD has performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, TX and headlined New York’s Blender Theater at Gramercy twice. Their music has been described as, “a ball of energy and intensity…with keys and a nice sweet side to it.” (Ron Thal: Bumblefoot, The New G n’ R). CMJ featured the band for their performance at the CMJ festival, 2008: “The music of Dead Men Dreaming is provocative and unique; difficult to fix into a particular genre as it has extracted characteristics from the whole history of rock and roll. Their guitars and searing vocals wander the spectrum of emotions from angry and hopeful, to agitated and relieved, while retaining their virtuosity at every turn.” Drawing from influences such as Metallica, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Korn and Queen, Dead Men Dreaming combines hard aggressive rock with old and new-school metal riffs along with powerful melodic vocals.
