About Esosa

Brooklyn, NY

Esosa is an actress/writer/director with a degree in Fashion Design from Cornell University & Central St. Martins School of Design in London, business training from Columbia University, and acting training from the NYU Tisch School, Cornell University, The Actor's Workshop of Ithaca, British American Drama Academy, Joseph Papp Public Theater's Shakespeare Lab, Labyrinth Theater Company’s Master Class and The Actor's Center Conservatory. Within the realm of filmmaking, Esosa wrote, directed, and starred in two films: Simple As Blk & White (2004), and 50 Bucks in Argentina (2007).

In August 2007, based on the merit of her two beginning attempts as a filmmaker, she won a mentorship with Hollywood director Joel Schumacher, (A Time to Kill, Batman Begins, Sparkle) on the MTV-U reality segment "Meet or Delete."

As an actress her most recent credits include: Cher in “Lark & Cher” which recently aired as a part of the BETJ “Best Shorts” Program, "Emergency Needs" a short directed by Kevin Everson which recently screened at the MOMA, AFI, Rotterdam, and Milano Film Festivals. In addition she continues to perform as Malady in the hit play, Platanos & Collard Greens, off-broadway and will be performing in their new show From Auction Block to Hip-Hop

Her mission is to be a working force in the entertainment industry because she believes in the great capacity art has to shape the global socio-political climate.
