And Away They Go

And Away They Go is an Indianapolis-based indie rock band born out of a mutual love for writing, recording and performing music. Making our debut in September 2011, AATG had its beginnings many years earlier under a different name, and initially playing a much different, heavier style of music. The band’s sound, however, quickly evolved through numerous lineup and instrumentation changes, and over time the name came to fit the music, as well the overall personality of the group, less and less. 

So after 10 years as Glass Halo—and despite some exciting achievements including winning Indy’s biggest battle of the bands in 2009 and being featured regularly on local radio stations, as well as a few other stations in different regions of the country—Eric, Aaron, Jason and Jon decided it was time they came up with a new name to better reflect this lineup and the music it’s generating.

Part hopefulness, part mythic bird lore (you’ll just have to ask one of us), part mission statement and part just plain fun, And Away They Go is a new beginning to a promising past.
