About Michael stoutenger
Michael Stoutenger started off playing the drums and that is where he found his passion for music. He then became interested in playing the guitar and writing music. He wrote many songs from the age 15 to 18 experimenting with different sounds to find his own. Finally after many trials and errors he decided it was time to start playing live. So his parents took him out to an open mic in Manayunk at a venue called Grape Street. Grape Street would play a huge part in his development as a musician and performer. As he made his rounds through different open mics he came across one at the Fig café in Jenkintown where he would spark the interest of the owner. About a year later Michael Stoutenger landed a steady show at the Fig café every Saturday night. There he would retain a show through his years in college while honing his talent. Now after graduating from Penn State, Michael Stoutenger continues his dream of having a career in music. Michael Stoutenger seeking a bigger sound to truly show case his songs has joined forces with Scott Berry (Drummer) and Michael Herlihy (Bass, Lead guitar and Keyboard) to form the Michael Stoutenger Trio. Michael Stoutenger has played at such venues as Six Flags Great Adventure, Penn State Abington and Grape Street.
