About Patty Tuite

Storrs, CT

Hi there
I am a singer/songwriter who has released three CDs to date: “Live at the Tic Toc” (1997), “Girls Night Out” (2002) and “Blonde and Blue” (2007). They contain several original compositions as well as some covers, in styles ranging from blues to folk to jazz. I recorded and mixed "Blonde and Blue" myself using Cakewalk Sonar 5 software. These CDs are available through www.cdbaby.com. I started playing guitar and singing at open mike sessions in the early 90’s. Bonnie Raitt’s influence on my style is very strong. Some of my other female heroes are Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Debbie Davies. I formed my first band, The Patty Tuite Band, in 1999, which has played throughout the region gaining fans at clubs, functions, and summer concert festivals. The band competed in the finals of the Connecticut Blues Society’s “Blues Challenge” in 2001 and 2005. Due to our showing at the CTBS statewide competitions, two originals have been included on the CTBS compilation CDs, “Local Flavor” (2003) and “Blue State Blues” (2007). In 2007, I was a judge for the CT Blues Challenge and formed my current band, Patty Tuite & the Boilermakers. The band plays a diverse repertoire of blues, swing, jazz and classic rock ‘n’ roll, as well as our popular originals, having fun through it all!
