About Poor Young Things
What makes up Poor Young Things?
Well, simply put, take a house full of 5 drop-dead gorgeous whipper snappers, fuel them with an indie spirit along with an appetite for something fresh in the realm of rock and roll. Oh, and give them a rowdy, head-turning live show, and there you have your recipe.
Bringing to mind a time where "rock n roll" was still true to its roots, Poor Young Things resurrect those same ideals put forth by the likes of Springsteen & Petty that seem to be lost in the shuffle of todays pre-packaged clone-rock. Driving rhythms and raw guitar lines combined with a soulful mixture of brains and brawn give them their modern-rock appeal.
New to the Big Smoke, PYT are striving to carve out their niche within the Toronto music scene. Their humble beginnings eventually led them to share the stage with the likes of Matt Mays, Arkells, The Trews, and Hollerado to name a few.
With the exciting news of their acceptance to CMW, and time in the studio with fellow hometown heartthrob Jeff Heisholt (The Trews, Peter Elkas), Poor Young Things plan to pick up steam and head into 2011 with the wheels turning and the vinyl spinning.
