About Red Plastic Buddha
Chicago's Red Plastic Buddha burst out of the psychedelic underground in late 2007 with the release of their debut CD Sunflower Sessions.
Featuring a sound often described as 'wall of sound psychedelia' and drawing frequent comparisons to such early masters as Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Love and The 13th Floor Elevators, The Red Plastic Buddha have set the bar high indeed.
"I'm not particularly concerned with media expectations" says frontman Timothy Ferguson "we make the kind of music we like and if our fans like it, we're happy. We're very fortunate to have a lot of support and people who believe in us".
2009 will find The RPB back in the studio recording again and playing select regional showcases. "There's a lot going on in the lives of our members, so we're really focusing on the creative aspect this year" continues Ferguson. "I think that by doing so, we're making the best use of our time and all the new material is setting us up well for the future".
