Ric Nuek was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, he grew up on Kensington St. which was notorious for drugs, crime, violence, and gangs. His love for hip hop was what keep him from going in the same recycled path that many others had chosen. At age 13 he began to write, record, and market his own music. At this time cassette tapes where running the industry, he gave promotional copies of his music away in school and in the streets. As the music industry changed and cd's took over, he began to understand the business side of the industry and decided to start his own indie label, “Get Doe Records” founded in 1999.
He would start releasing mixtapes featuring his hottest songs and freestyles trying to create a buzz for himself, his label, and other artist & labels he was affiliated with. From there he would have his music featured on the radio on Hot 93.7 "Saturday Night Show down " & "The Kid Fresh Show - Crunk It Or Junk It”. He was also featured on Power 104.1 as a winner on Spank Buddahs "Streets Beats ". He was also a finalist for Connecticut in Xhibits “Hip Hop Supa Stars” contest. He stayed persistant and kept dropping mixtape after mixtape and his buzz began to grow. Ric Nuek has performed at Club El N Gee, The C.O.C, Back Court Sports Café, and The Elks Lounge just to name a few.
He then linked up with Stockton, California's "First Lady Playgyrl Slim" of Bonafide Hustler Entertainment and featured on her mixtapes "The Networking Compilation" & "2 Face". He would later take a trip to Manhattan to get a feature on "Funk Master Flex - Unsigned Talent Dvd Vol 3". Ric Nuek has also performed on CTV (Connecticut Public Television), had his records spun on a long list of radio stations, and has received numerous awards from websites that feature his music. Ric nuek’s main goal is to breaking into the rap game and bringing a change to todays Hip Hop Movement.
