About Samarah

Bremen, Germany

SAMARAH are four guys from Saarland, Germany, which are dedicated to hand-made music. When it comes to genre, their music is just in-between metal, alternative and rock. The band was formed in March 2006 by Marcel Staub and Sven Siersdorfer, both being members of the former band ZEN

Initially the band SAMARAH was intended to be a two-man-project to record a couple of songs and bandy them about. But after some band practices and three recorded songs, they wanted more. After an extensive search and several line-up-changes, an appropriate guitarist (Steven Haag) and a capable bass player (Michael Grandjean) are finally found

Shortly after, they had enough songs to record the longplayer "Leaving the underground" (which contains the first three songs). The album was released in June 2007

Currently, "Leaving the Underground" is presented live. Besides, new songs are already nascent

In December 2006 the first video clip was prearranged and in March 2007 the video for "Demon" was produced by Christian Bach and Matthias Braun in collaboration with the band

In 2007 the band was already able to qualify for some festivals, e.g. the "Rock om Gau"-Festival, the "Rockwell"-Festival (where they entered the stage just before "Walls of Jericho") or the "Rock Area"-Festival (international line-up, e.g. Ektomorf, Moonsorrow, Hatesphere, Legion of the Damned)
