Rising from the ashes of the band Scopelock, the Flint, Michigan band Silent Divide is taking their brand of metal mayhem to the masses! With a dynamic sound and terrific stage presence, these five guys have made Flint the epicenter of a thunderous explosion of metal fury! With a new vision and a firm belief in their direction, the band emerges with a new name and a new outlook. Opening for bands such as Cold, The Agonist and Dance Club Massacre, Silent Divide has shown their diversity and wide brand of appeal.
The group is a unique blend of musicians that bring together many forms of music in a way that bridges the genres of metal, rock and even progressive to forge a new sound that is as heavy as anything you’ve heard but still retain a melodic side that sets this band apart from the pack!
Not only are they fine musicians, these guys are the type of people you want to know. As an example, they are the host of the annual Heavy Metal Cruise For The Cure during Detroit’s; Woodward Dream Cruise. This charity concert has all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society. They firmly believe in giving as much as they can to those that need it.
Silent Divide is:
Mark Gomez/Lead Singer – He is the voice behind this supreme band. Originally the lead singer of the band Khantra, he joined forces with what was to become Silent Divide in 2007. His range will make you wonder just where has this guy been hiding!!
Alex Ricketts/Lead Guitar - Alex looks to another Alex for inspiration, Alex Skolnick. With the same fiery dedication and magnificent ability, this Alex will melt your face with his terrific riffs.
Kelly Tucker/Rhythm Guitar- Armed with his mighty Jackson guitar, the sonic blast that hits you from his dynamic playing style is enough to make fire extinguishers mandatory at their concerts!
Brant Swafford/bass - The anchor of the group is the guy who believes where he comes from is as important as where he is now. This is why the kilt wearing Brant is the foundation on which Silent Divide has built from.
Thorin Butkiewicz/Drums - Sitting behind his Tama Rockstar Kit, the youngest member of the group is the pulse that keeps the keeps the lifeblood of the band pumping. Thorin is equal to the task, even with the wealth of talent around him.
Together this band is taking the metal world by storm! From Flint the sound of Silent Divide is spreading outward, leaving all those that have heard them disciples of their musical movement.
