About Sleepin Brains

Buenos Aires, Argentina

The band story goes back to 2004 when the Iglesias brothers (Willy & Tommy) decided to create a band with values and musical structures not used anymore but with a modern sound; the result: The most shocking Hard rocking band of our present 'lack of Metal' days: Sleepin Brains! Jamming in a small city room with some poor equipment and 'wish I' fucked up amplification they got there first two songs, Highway to Glory and Heartache (formerly Fire in My Heart). Ideas all around and a proyect to be taken care of, they called an old childhood friend, they met on the Arcades, Pilver, who, by the way...happened to be a drummer.

Drums issue taken care off they went for their second guitar player, Beto Ronson, a Heavy Metal friend they met on River Plate soccer stadium in the middle of a game. Band gathered, it was song-writting time! First very significant songs of their first album were born; such as Female Stars, Shake it Up! Suicide Generation and Only Love. Time to Rock! so they began to Roll, the bands first Live appearance completely Sold Out, September 3rd. 2004 , ¨La Colorada¨. After some more shows, for personal reasons Pilver decided to leave the band so it was time to get a new drummer.

One summer night of the year 2005, the three members were on a B.A. bar, ¨El Escandinavo¨, deciding about the band´s future when they met and old friend of Beto, Gonzalo Garcia Muñoz, and guest what: he was a Drummer. Ready to Rock again, and with two more songs for the album, (Explode & Shine, Song of Madness), they made their first show with ¨Hurricane¨ gonzo on the drums ( October 28th, 2005, Speed King) ¨First Dream¨, was finished at the studio ¨Fuera de Tunel¨, on Febreaury 2006. Meanwhile, Willy Lead guitar player & Vocalist was touring the US, so the band went on vacations till August, same year.

For personal reasons Beto Ronson left and was replaced by a friend of the band, Liza, just for 2 month. finally, Beto Ronson came back to the band, and the band stopped doing shows to write and record their second album, this time on the studio ¨La Nave de Oseberg¨ Next show: December 15, Planet Music.
