About Tenille

Grande Prairie, Canada

The phrase, “out of the mouths of babes” couldn’t be more accurate when describing Grande Prairie, Alberta’s Tenille (Nadkrynechny). In 2003, and only 9 years old, Tenille experienced her first taste of national media attention, when she was hoisted on to an Edmonton stage and performed in the spotlight with Shania Twain. While her mother Monique looked on, Tenille declared, “I really want to be a singer – that’s my dream.”

In 2004 Tenille was selected as the Peace Country Idol winner. The release of Tenille’s first demo album in 2008 featured 7 songs; in 2009, her second demo album featuring 5 songs was produced by multi award winner, Duane Steele. Currently, at the ripe age of 16, Tenille’s songwriting skills have aligned her with some of the best in the country music business including Nashville SESAC Legacy Award Winner Stan Webb, and multi Juno nominated and CCMA Award winners Tim Taylor, Byron Hill, and Troy Kokol.

The release of HOME NOW, Tenille’s first single to national country radio by Lauren Tutty Promotions, occurred November 2nd, 2009, in time for Remembrance Day. The tribute to fathers serving overseas was met with tremendous radio response garnering Tenille live media interviews and performances in Edmonton, on November 11th with Citytv’s Breakfast Television, CBC’s Radio: WILD ROSE, Alberta Primetime News (CTV) and feature stories on the front page of both The Edmonton Journal and The Calgary Herald’s Arts & Entertainment sections.

Having opened for acts such as Aaron Pritchett, Emerson Drive, Gord Bamford, The Wilkinsons, Sean Hogan, and Sue Medley, Tenille was selected to perform when the Olympic Torch Relay went through her hometown in December 2009. Her contribution to helping Haiti had her take the stage with One More Girl and her summer 2010 festival performances will have Tenille open for Dean Brody. HOME NOW having caught the eyes and ears of several executives in the Canadian Military are busy making preparations for Tenille to perform for The Troops in Afghanistan in December 2010.

On February 13th 2010 Tenille tested her own fundraising efforts when she masterminded and executed the 1st Annual BIG HEARTS FOR BIG KIDS event benefiting Grande Prairie’s Sunrise House – the only emergency youth shelter available for troubled and turmoiled teens north of Edmonton. Partnering with Big Country Radio and CTV, as well as aligning with many of her songwriting friends, Tenille in one evening raised over $30,000 to keep those doors open that literally were declared closed the day before.

A high school honor student, currently recording her debut CD for a 2010 release with multi award winning producer, Fred Mollin and Nashville based musicians whose credits appear on albums with Martina McBride, Reba McIntyre and Johnny Mathias to name a few, Tenille’s talent continues to attract world renowned industry professionals that endorse her songwriting, music, and on stage performances. Without a doubt, Canada’s next biggest country star may be the petite, pint size performing powerhouse from Grande Prairie, Alberta – Tenille (Nadkrynechny).
