The Alchemystics play a unique blend of roots music. Effortlessly combining reggae, hip-hop, soul music, dub, and dancehall styles. The Alchemystics sound is well polished ,& intoxicating, it is a celebration of rhythm & melody. Their music crosses boundries. Welcoming all into the experience

The band's collective experience reads like an encyclopedia of music. Members have studied percussion with masters in Cuba, won awards in orchestras, toured the Caribbean playing soca , recorded at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong studio, studied flamenco music , performed in afro carribean drum and dance troupes , & graduated from Berklee College of Music .The groups members have honed their skills in countless musical settings from , hard core to reggae , jazz to hip hop , Soca to Rock , punk to Soul , Go -Go to dancehall, Classical to Metal , Ska to R & B. and the list goes on. Members of The group have backed reggae legends the Abyssinians , Tony Rebel , & Rupee , and have shared the stage with , Stephen Marley , Michael Franti & Spearhead , Clipse , Damian Marley , Sister Carol , The Coupe , Dennis Brown , Inner circle , Busta Rhymes , Yellow Man , Burning Spear , Gil Scott Heron , Culture , ShineHead , Angelique Kidjo , Mighty Sparrow , The Brazilian Girls , Israel Vibrations , The English Beat , Bonnie Raitt , King Sunny Ade , and Taj Mahal.

The Alchemystics firmly embrace the notion that music & art is a vital tool to bring about social change in our communities. Individually and collectively, the members of the Alchemystics have made it a priority to give back to their local community. They have not only worked hands on with the youth in their community , through music / arts / & out door leadership programs . They have also lent their musical talents on many occassions to raise funds for causes such as the Massachusetts Red Ribbon Ride, and the Northampton Survival center, benefits for Victims of Hurricane Katrina , benefits for the people of Sudan , Marches to end domestic violence , AIDS awareness / fund raising events in NYC , and events for local residents in need . Members have also guest lectured and performed at a number of schools in the Northeast . The Alchemystics pride themselves on being an active part of the music community and have organized and hosted a number of events designed to showcase the talent in the vibrant and diverse musical scene they call home .
