I'm tired of enumerating I just wanted to stop by and give kudos to your band or all you have and I am sure will accomplish. As for my work...well I have thrown myself up against walls to see what sticks and it has been mainly theater and, yes, opera or concert singing. I have been advised to build a 40+ rep of cover songs and approach original music with the education gleaned from that cumulative list and it has been working. I have been learning the nuance of singing,(which is a lot less work by the way). Lizz Wright has been influential, Johnny Mathis (yes I like Mr. Mathis~ his voice and his character), Al Jarreau, Peggy Lee, Wynton Marsalis, and Stan Getz to name a few. As you say, finding a band is very challenging but I have been trying to start with pianist then build from there.
I am rambling but I feel that I should give a report since you were kind enough to give such great advice.
As for your music: HELL YEAH! Really nice work. Enjoy the label "Power Soul". Your faves are nice too. Y'all are just all around musi-licious. Alright. Dunno if/when I will be posting again on Ourstage but wanted to say thanks. Peace and blessings to you and yours
