About Whitney Hogan
Clermont, FL
My name is Whitney Hogan. I've been told I first started singing while in my car seat, riding in my Mom's huge green Pontiac. I made everyone else in the car sing, too. I'm sure it was a "sing or else" situation, knowing me.
Music has been running through my veins ever since I can remember. I grew up listening to everything from my Mom's psychedelic 60's tunes blasting through the radio, (Janis, Jimi, Sly & The Family Sone) and the Motown and Stax sound, to my Dad's old country tunes from George Jones, Keith Whitley, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, etc. They also had a shared love for classic rock. I had a head start from early on.
I begged my parents for a guitar while in elementary school. Finally realizing I was serious, they gave in. I still have that little guitar. I began practicing and taking lessons from the instructor at our local music store. High school is where I first started to write and craft my own songs. The songwriting process was a long learning experience for me in the beginning, and it still is. After graduation, I entered the wonderful world of college. Spending countless hours at a few different community colleges, I never felt satisfied with the classes I was taking. There was a great need for a change. Searching for something to nurture my creative bone, I found a school that met those needs. It was Fullsail University, where I received my Associate of Science degree in Recording Arts, and my Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Business. While attending Fullsail, I played many open mic nights. This was the first time I had ever played any of my music to anyone other than my four walls, and my family. After graduation, I did a short and amazing internship in the City of Angels. I then moved back to Florida to pursue my music career. I began playing the local bars and festivals, trying to make a name for myself. By sheer luck, I opened for a friend's band, and ended up leaving at the end of the night with the number to a producer in Nashville. After many persistent phone calls and emails, I finally convinced him to set up a meeting with me. I showed up in Nashville with a demo of 10 songs and an undeniable determination. We worked out details and a month later I was sitting with him doing the pre-production for my first album, REVOLUTIONIZE.
REVOLUTIONIZE is real music with real content for real people. I feel that we accomplished everything we strove for. I'm very proud of this album. The next step is to strike out and play my music to whoever will listen. I love this. I love everything about music. The way it moves me and the way it is capable of moving someone else in a completely different way. For me, music is not a job, it's my passion in life. It's a spiritual and enlightening experience every time I hit the stage. A high like no other.
I'm ready to rip it up for whoever wants to watch and listen. So, sit back, relax and get ready to rock. If I ask you to sing, remember, with me it's a "sing or else" situation. I don't take no for an answer. See you soon.
