Yasmine is an Australian born Sri Lankan singer/songwriter. New to the Los Angeles music scene. She arrived in the United States from London in 2009. Following in the footsteps of her belly dancer/country singer mother, Yasmine started singing in Melbourne nightclubs at the age of 17. She was quick to shy away from popular and electronic music that saturates the Australian music scene and immersed herself in the jazz, blues and soul singers of the past. After years of practically wearing out old LP's of Ella, Ray Charles and the like. Yasmine found new loves in the genius of those such as Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.
In her songwriting now she fuses together the styles of those she loves as well as bringing her own unique flavor and lyrical attitude.
