The New Lew Johnson is an acoustic band from Southern Indiana and features Lou Johnson on backing vocals and rhythm guitar. The band is best known for songs such as “James Aaron”, “Gray”, “Jason” and “The Shit Song”
What makes the music unique are the melodic chord structures that are used (most notably in the song “Jason”). These chords are a combination of obscure tunings and bombardment of triads. The music is always about personal experiences and observances, and the lyrics are usually dark and serious. Every now and again though, there are more lighthearted tracks such as “The Shit Song” and “That Bitch is a Dirty Slut Train Blues”.
The New Lew Johnson has no solid band as of right now, but it will be fully functional shortly. Full time vocals will be female and Lou Johnson will be backing. It is possible that the line up will be Stephanie Dickison (Vocals), Doug Keep (Bass), Bobby Moore (Drums), and Lou Johnson (Guitars/Backing Vocals). However, that is not in stone.
Lou Johnson made his music career in metal bands such as 2th, Xzyox, and K.S.P. He started his music career in 1997 in K.S.P. as the Bass player. The line up was Jason Meyer (Vocals), Rich Overturf (Drums), Andy Weiland (Guitars), and Lou Johnson.
