I am a Christian singer/songwriter/guitarist that is influenced by just about every form of music. The main focus on my music is not to write any "genre" of music, but to use the talents He has given me to praise God.
I started music when I was grade school, singing in choir. I played alto saxophone in seventh grade, and change back to choir in eighth. I continued singing in choir through my high school years. Around the time that I was 12, I started to learn to play guitar, but quickly got bored, and quick. When VanHalen released their album 5150, I fell in love with the electric guitar, and insteadly wanted to learn how to play it. Afer a couple years, and saving money, I bought my first electic guitar in 1987. I have been playing since then.
Around 1989, I started to join and form bands, playing hard rock/heavy metal, and even started to get a small following. However, after a couple years, I started to feel empty, and decided to change the topic of the songs that I sang to God. To make a long story short, I didn't do too well, and in 1992, I more or less quit music, and joined the military. It wasn't until 2006, when I went to serve over in Iraq that I played in front of people again. It was then that I decided to accept that God had made me to be a musician.
Now, I am working on getting back to performing, as well as starting a record label that will be for Christian musicians, but focus on teens and young adults. The proceeds from the music sales will used to be donated to organizations that help the community, specially at-risk teens.
